| First of all, this is an invitation-only roleplay. You've been invited here because the mods think you're awesome, so please don't give out the address to anyone else without first clearing it with the mods. Your mods are Nara and Sakki, and we're generally very friendly and understanding, I promise. The game premise is pretty simple. It's set in a mental institution in the Canadian Rockies. The hospital is set in an old Victorian mansion, which is quite secluded. The mansion is likely to be snowed in for weeks or even months at a time. Fortunately, it is self-powered and reasonably well-heated, but you should still keep in mind that winters will be harsh. The Institute is primarily intended for young patients (16-30 years), and specializes in paranormal psychoses. These are guidelines, not requirements. If you'd like your character to be older or younger, just run it by the mods to make sure they belong here. Paranormal psychoses means that the characters either exhibit mild paranormal activity, or believe that they do. We ask that you keep this within the bounds of scientific possibility: mild telekinesis is allowed, the ability to sprout wings and fly is not. Your character is NOT required to have any kind of paranormal tendencies. We are completely welcoming of normal patients, and would really like to have enough of them to balance out all the supernatural powers. All we ask is that there's some kind of actual reason as to why they belong in a mental health facility. At this time, we are only accepting patient characters, but if you had an interest in picking up a nurse or staff member, please contact the mods to discuss it. As the rp grows, we will certainly be needing more than just the two doctors in charge of the facility, but for starters the institute has a staff of two. We don't want to be too stingy about rules, and I'm confident that you're all competent intelligent writers who won't give us any trouble with godmodding, mary sues or any of the other roleplay horrors. Be sure to read at least all the stickies in this forum (reading all the patient files is recommended), then go ahead and jump right in! === Questions, concerns, marriage proposals, offerings of firstborn, etc. can be directed to the mods: | |
